Crookston High School Concert Orchestra
Concert Orchestra is a musical ensemble for high school string musicians*, open by audition to students in grades 9-12. Orchestra meets daily as a group and performs for many concerts throughout the school year. In addition, students have multiple opportunities to rehearse and perform in select ensembles including the Valley Fiddlers and Pop Strings. These select ensembles perform an additional 10-20 times throughout the region at various venues such as conferences, meetings, programs, festivals, community fund-raisers and seasonal programs.
Orchestra students are strongly encouraged to participate in the Minnesota State High School League Solo and Ensemble contests, Minnesota All-State Orchestra, area youth symphonies, and Honor Orchestras at area universities.
*Selected woodwind, brass and percussion students from the band also perform with the Orchestra during various concerts throughout the school year.
