Elementary Band

Band begins in 5th Grade with 25 minute like-instrument group lessons once a week. After everyone has a few notes learned, the students will meet once a week for full band rehearsals on Thursdays. Students work to establish a firm foundation in musical fundamentals to build upon in their next years.
6th Grade Band follows the same set up as the 5th Grade Band: One 25 minute like-instrument group lesson and one full band rehearsal each week. 6th Grade Band rehearses on Fridays.

Elementary Band
Students have the opportunity to join band at the beginning of 5th Grade! Mrs. Winger will visit students during their music class for instrument screening. Information about joining band will be sent home with students after they have tried out the different mouth pieces! Students can choose from the following beginning band instruments: Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Trumpet, Trombone, Baritone, or Percussion.
In 6th grade, students continue to study the instrument they chose in 5th grade. Each year they will get better and more confident with their skills! Students can also start band in 6th grade, but will need to work a bit harder to catch up to their classmates since they will have already been playing their instruments for a year!
